| The Marketing Associations is the term given
to the family of marketing cooperatives created last year in
compliance with the Capper-Volstead Act which gives agricultural
producers, their handlers and sales agents, the legal ability
to discuss market information that they would otherwise be unable
to discuss. Four separate associations have been created: The
Washington Apple Growers Marketing Association (WAGMA); the
Washington Pear Marketing Association (WPMA); the Mid-Columbia
Pear Marketing Association (MCPMA); and the Northwest Cherry
Marketing Association (NWCMA). Each association is a separate
legal entity governed by its own Board of Directors. The associations
are staffed by Bruce Grim, Manager and Nicole Brunner, Administrative
Assistant; you may click on "Contact Us" to reach
them.
